Today was a very active day with lots of walking, stairs and subways!
We viewed the city from the Metropolitan Government Building, navigated the popular shopping place at Takeshita Street famous for its delicious crepes in Harajuku, visited the Meiji Jingu shrine where we saw a traditional wedding take place, prepared our own Okonomiyaki for lunch, and walked the very busy crossing at Shibuya Station.
We were ready for a good rest by the end of our sightseeing day!
Together with the students of Shinjo’s International Relations Committee, today we took a bus trip to the seaside town of Shonai located on the west coast of Japan. Here we visited a candle making store where we hand-painted our own candle. We then headed to the “Kamo Aquarium” located on Shonai Beach facing the Sea of Japan. This extraordinary aquarium is world famous for having the largest number of jellyfish exhibits. On return to Shinjo, we participated in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony.
